Hop on your mat, friends, it’s time for yoga core!
This yoga video is shorter than my last, with a focus on strengthening core muscles.
When you think of abdominal exercises – do you immediately think of crunches?
Most of us do, and while they are effective in some ways, they can be done without mindfulness and connecting to the abdominal muscles.
Beyond this, there are other exercises and movements that will tone our deeper abdominal muscles – the obliques and transverse abdominals – which support more of our daily movements, spine, and body functions.
Our core is far more than our “six-pack” (which is actually an 8-pack). However, our culture focuses on these more superficial muscles because they are the ones that create that ‘six pack’.
In today’s video, I share some movements to tone core muscles, and mobilize and strengthen your spine.
I quite enjoy doing yoga core work. Especially when I have any nagging soreness in my wrists or elbows, or other little injuries.
Such as falling with a box of potatoes. 🤕
Yeah. I’ll share that story in my next core video. Because I’ll be doing more than one. I love yoga core sequences!
I also love spuds – until I’m laid out on the floor with a box of them. 🙄
Hope you enjoy the video. Namaste. x Dreena
