Hello everyone!
I have posted my first official yoga youtube video.
The theme of this class is to simply find a little joy in movement on your mat.
Ironically, the process of filming and editing this video was something other than, um, joyful!
I joke. I loved doing this first segment. It’s just the learning curve for filming and editing is quite a big one. My cooking videos have typically been more impromptu – or filmed by my daughters so not particularly professional. 😉 Not to mention that with cooking, the camera doesn’t have to pick up your full body in motion.
It was a process, and I had tech glitches that resulted in re-recording this video (or segments of it) at least five times.
But it was the editing process that caused me pain. So I guess this video is a bit like the song joy and pain. Who remembers that one??
In short, if anyone has video editing skills, I could use some assistance – email me!
Now, back to the joy of yoga!
Joy was the first idea that came to mind for this video. Because I always find a little bit of joy when I come to my yoga mat. It may not be the entire class or sequence. Instead, it might be during the breathwork, or a stretch at the beginning, or in savasana.
That’s what I’d like to share with you in this and my upcoming videos. Some moments of joy in movement. Without overthinking things.
As we do.
As I do. Oh I do.
And not to take things to seriously.
As we do.
As I do!
I even take myself too seriously during yoga at times. Anyone relate? It’s silly when we think about it.
It’s just yoga.
So let’s enJOY it!
Grab your mat. Play the video. Drop me a note.
x Dreena

Ahh…overthinking…I am guilty at times too! Congrats on your first yoga YouTube video!

I think we have a lot of company in this one, Erin! Thanks for the cheer

Thank you

I agree – very well done and YES! I sometimes take yoga a bit too seriously as well…who knows why. It’s such a lovely way to spend time. Please share more videos!
Dreena says
Oh, thanks so much, Jules! Appreciate that.

Nicely done! I enjoyed your video. You mentioned you weren’t happy that it was a little dark. Lighter colored clothes in a lighter colored room or background would probably help. Experiment. Keep up the good work!
Dreena says
Thank you Terry! Yes, and the room was brighter when I first recorded… then I had tech troubles and had to record again. But, will get there – thanks for the kind words!
