Well, I’m pretty excited for VegExpo this coming Sunday (April 24th). Not only because I’ll be doing a presentation, but also because I get to sample new vegan products! The girls are just as excited. (Well, not about my talk, just about the food.) π
I’m all set except for one thing, and I need your help!
I’ll be doing a talk and want to have some samples from Plant-Powered Families for folks to try. I am terribly indecisive. I’m a Libra, so not all that surprising.
So, what should I bring??? Maybe the Sweet Potato Cake? Or Crazy Brownies? (see how I think chocolate first?) Or, maybe Chickpea Nibbles? Baconut? No-Bake Granola Bars? Sweet Balls? Banana Bread?
See?! I need help. Help me choose.
Please. Rescue me!
And I hope to see many of you there! Get more details at VegExpo.ca.

Lemon Kissed Blondie Bites! My freezer is never without them! π
Kim says
Sweet Potato Cake for sure!…and Chickpea Nibbles, too!
Judith Bader says
I vote for the sweet potato cake! It is just so hard to find a really good chocolate cake that is oil free.
Debbie P says
My vote is for the Sweet Potato Cake or the Chocolate Pumpkin Pie — delish!! Both a hit in our house!!
Liz says
Do you really need another commenter putting in a vote for sweet potato cake? Probably not, but here I am, nonetheless. π
Mary P says
So exciting!! I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the mentioned ideas so pick something that’s easiest for you! Have a blast!
Michelle says
Sweet potato cake because it sound unique and interesting. Also brownies are always good or do something savory. I hope to be there on Sunday!

I hear you ! . For serving ease I would say Crazy Brownies or Sweet Balls but Sweet Potato Cake looks aaaahmazing! Looking forward to this and hearing you! Been following you for a while now and love your posts and recipes ! So glad you’re speaking this year!
Dianne Stephany says
Your Sweet Potato Cake is definitely the hands down winner in our home!! No competition at all. We even adjust the recipe for my chocolate hating – peanut butter loving husband, and my coconut and nut loving friend. It works many many ways and is sooooo delicious, satisfying and versatile! I even tried caramel and pecan for my husband- he loved it, but I haven’t told him yet he will probably never see it again because I found the caramel bits in the pantry left over from before veganizing us. Oh, and pumpkin works just as well as sweet potatoes, so if you need to make it fast it is easy to open a can of pumpkin.

Sooo many good recipes – but i have to agree…the sweet potato cake and frosting is a smash hit! You rock it! I have not seen anyone even come close to that recipe! Everyone loves it and we feel so good about eating our dessert!
Natalie Carpenter Collins says
My vote would def be with either the crazy brownies or the sweet potato cake! Chocolate gets them everytime! We had such a blast with you at Ottawa VegFest last year! I know you will have fun at VegExpo this weekend! Have fun!

Definitely sweet potato cake! π Although I would stuff my face anyway with everything you decided to bring π
Debbie Fiedler says
Haha all of the above
Lucy says
I’m definitely for Sweet potato cake with frosting. It is unusual and taste incredible good π And savory for example chickpea salad
Diana says
Any of those would be wonderful but I’d be most likely to wait in line for a brownie (yum!) or baconut (intriguing!) π
Wish I could be there! Come to Chicago VeganMania sometime π
Sarah says
Geez…there are too many good ideas. I vote bite-sized crazy brownies, and for a savoury idea, crackers with the red lentil hummus. Good luck!
Diana says
Ooh! Hummus is a great idea! I love the almond red pepper hummus!
Sarah says
Chickpea salad sandwich filling (the one with apple pieces in it) is my suggestion.

Sweet Potato Cake. The chickpea nibbles, while good aren’t as creative as the sweet potato cake and that cake was delicious. Also, I loved your apple hemp seed muffins. And the blueberry lassy ones were different and good. And your french toast recipe in that book is the best french toast ever. But, that may not hold up for an event because it would get soggy. I say go with the sweet potato cake! I haven’t tried your baconut yet, but it looks creative.
Stacey says
Definitely the sweet potato cake! You could probably make it into mini- cupcakes so there are lots of samples!
Liz says
Bring something that will hold up to being exposed to the air for extended periods of time. It should also be easy to portion into individual samples. The cakes would certainly be decent choices! So would the granola. Baconut should hold up well, too.
Carolin says
We were so impressed by your crazy brownies. You should bring them …
so yummy.
Our kids( 8y /4y ) love your oatmeal pumpkin Granola bars. I have to make them every week.
Thank you Dreena for this wonderful book. We are so happy to have it π All the best to you and your family. Greetings from Germany
