A while back I did a series of posts about vegan products I love: aka my favorite vegan things.
You know, like raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.
I do love whiskers on kittens. 🐱💕
Wow, four lines in and I’ve already digressed. That might be a new record. 😬
Today I’m sharing 5 favorite vegan products (video included at

1. Vanilla Bean Powder
I’m often asked about vanilla bean powder. I use it as an optional ingredient in some of my recipes.
In most recipes, it’s not essential. Yes, you can almost always substitute some pure vanilla extract for the powder.
But I tell you, kids, once you smell this stuff – and try a little in a recipe, you’ll be wooed!
I love this Kiva brand. While it looks pricey, you use a little each time. Most recipes I use 1/4 tsp, 1/2 at most. Also, you can just open and sniff it whenever! #kidding #ornot 😬
2. McDougall Soup Cups
Our older girls are obsessed with ramen noodles. These McDougall soup cups make for fast and easy prep.
Also healthier. It’s hard to find noodle cup-soups that don’t contain MSG or animal ingredients. These are great vegan products. And, note they are indeed vegan (the ‘chicken’ can be distracting, but label clearly identifies these cups as vegan).
I first bought these soups at a grocery store just over the border. Then, I found them on
3. David’s Tea Matcha
Years back I was into steeping loose teas from David’s Teas. Then I wasn’t. Convenience took over.
A shop opened in our area recently, and walking by one day I decided to stop in. They have so many new offerings. Including matcha!

I love
Sometimes I play
The matcha varieties include unsweetened grades to flavored options with sweeteners. So, check the labels if you don’t want any sweeteners.
I also bought the new sachet teas.
4. InnoFoods Dark Chocolate Clusters
I think every one of my favorites
#done #twistmyarm 😝
I scored these chocolate nuggets a couple of weeks back at Winners. These are
Kind of like my chocolate bark with benefits in nibbly bites of pumpkin seeds, coconut, quinoa, and flax all worked in. Were we on the same wavelength, InnoFoods?! #benefits
Doing an online search, I couldn’t find it on amazon.com. However, these and similar vegan products are on amazon.ca.
UPDATE: Just learned via facebook that these are available at Costco (thanks Victoria)!
5. Yoga Favorite Thing: Align Pants
I appreciate some of you aren’t interested in yoga. These align pants from
They are just delicious leggings, anytime, anywhere.
They are the only leggings I really love wearing. For years I didn’t understand why people liked leggings! They felt itchy. Or sweaty. Or binding. Anyone else feel that way?
Then, a year or so back I was browsing in lulu’s sale rack, and the sales gal
Um… “the what?“…
I didn’t know what they were. There was one pair left in my size. I tried them on. I was sold. #hooklinesinker!
Now,

Wearing in this vid!
I wear the regular waist (not high waisted), 28″ length in size 4, for reference. I like full length to my ankles, and any shorter is far too short for my legs. But here are the crop and high-waisted for you to check out.
Perhaps you can tell me another style/brand of leggings that compares. If so, share!
I have many more “fave” products I want to share with you. But, I’d like to know if you find these posts useful. Yes?
Also, do you have fave products you’d like me to spotlight? I’d love to know some of your picks. Share in the comments

Dreena – I loved this post!! I wanted to order everything right away! LOL! When I tried to order the vanilla matcha from David’s, it would not let me put my postal code in. I didn’t see an option to ship to the US.. do you know if they ship over here? I sent them a customer service email but wanted to post here too. I am excited to make my vanilla matcha latte! HUGS!
Dreena says
Oh fabulous! Love to read that, thanks Nancie. It does look like they will ship to the US – it says anywhere in North America. I hope they respond to you. If not, let me know and I’ll nab a couple of US links for matcha. 🙂

thank you!! I have sent them a few emails but haven’t heard back yet.. A US link would be fab! XO

Dreena I always love your “favourite things” posts! Thanks for sharing your secrets with us Now I gotta save my pennies for some fab Lululemon leggings!!
Dreena says
thanks Samara! They’re fun to do, but oddly take much longer than prepping a recipe post. Yes, treat yourself to leggings some day!

I NEVER thought I would be caught dead in leggings, but I found a brand I like and that actually look good on me. They are the Lori Goldstein (LOGO) brand leggings sold on QVC. The crop length are item # A251899 and the full length are item # A236704. They are actually slimming on me and make my legs and hips look slimmer.
Dreena says
Thanks for sharing your favorite, Nancy, will have to check that out!
Rona says
I loved reading this Dreena! And I guess I have some Amazon and Lulu shopping to do now today
Dreena says
haha, indeed you do, Rona. Mother’s Day isn’t all that far away – and let’s face it, we deserve more than one Mom’s day a year. 😉 Thanks dear.

I like a high-waisted yoga pant as well! I’ve moved away from Lululemon for a while, but I will have to try these! Recently, I’ve been more into Lole brand. They sometimes have styles that are a bamboo blend, or made of recycled fibres, which I always appreciate.
And they have several styles that are high waisted. I like Lole because they often have colours that I like, like a khaki green, and ink blue.
Dreena says
I don’t know of that brand, thanks Natalie. I love khaki too, it’s a staple for me. And yes, I remember when lulu had a lot of lower waisted leggings. Seems the trend is other direction now. They have the align in “super high waist” as well. Going to google that brand!
