Vegan Gift Guide 2017
Hello friends! I’ve rounded up some wonderful picks for vegan goodies to gift or enjoy yourself this season. I’d love to hear other suggestions from you in the comments. Enjoy!
Giving Back: Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary
Last year I shared a gift guide, and began with Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary. I’m starting here again this year. Do you remember I introduced you to Cromwell last year? This past spring we decided to sponsor a pig at Cedar Row, and we were given Cromwell (see this FB post).
Our wee girl loves hearing stories about Cromwell and seeing his photos. She feels like he is her special adopted pig. You can choose to sponsor pigs, chickens, donkeys, goats, and many other animals. Look into it, these animals can use your support. Any donation would be appreciated if you cannot commit to a monthly sponsorship. Please consider. ♥
Vegan Chocolate
You knew there’d be chocolate. 😬 Last week I asked for chocolate truffle and caramel recommendations on facebook. Here were some of the top suggestions:
Premium Chocolatiers (ships to Canada)
Booja Booja Chocolates (also on amazon)
Pure Lovin’ Chocolates (Canada) (They have incredible caramel cups!)
Now to decide which to buy for my, you know, friend. Help me decide, please! I’m leaning towards these from Premium Chocolatiers… but also have my eye on these truffles. Anyone try them?
Vegan Purses
I’ve bought several purses on amazon and have been really happy with them, so I thought I’d add them to this vegan gift guide.
I bought this purse for a friend and she LOVED it. It’s made from repurposed netting that was once used in the fishing and construction industries – all materials are vegan and cruelty free. Isn’t that remarkable? Also, they donate a percentage of all proceeds to Wide Open Wings, a charity serving impoverished women and children in Cambodia.
Here are a few other beautiful affordable options for vegan purses on amazon:
There are also gorgeous vegan bags through companies like Matt and Nat and Gunas, though they are typically out of average price range for gifting (unless shopping for your wife, of course). 😉 For friends in Canada, I have spotted Matt and Nat bags at Winners, so keep an eye out at your local stores.
Dreena’s Plant-Powered & Weegan Designs
Plant-Powered Vegan Necklace
I’ve partenered with Christy Robinson to create this new exclusive necklace design for my vegan gift guide this year.
I’m wearing mine right now as I type! I love when someone inquires about it, and I can talk excitedly about how I’ve been vegan for almost 25 years. Plus, it’s just so lovely. Purchase through etsy.
T-shirts/Aprons/Mugs & Weegan Designs
Wear your vegan message while cooking! Some other items vegans you love might love: vegan mug, vegan tee, #hummusisafoodgroup tee or apron,
Or, pick up a weegan design for the little vegans in your life!
iphone or ipad holder/mount
Several years ago I picked up an ipad mount at Winners for about $15. Great quality and I use it all the time – quite a steal! I plan to get a couple of iphone mounts this year, because the girls often use their iphones for homework, it’s just easier to see them propped up.
Fuji smart phone instant printer
I just purchased one of these. Sometimes I wonder if our digital era has made life easier. I don’t think so. I believe it’s overcomplicated our lives with apps, gadgets, and keeping up with the latest. One thing I greatly miss about our pre-iphone days is photography.
Remember when we would bring in rolls of film to be developed? Sure, we had a number of bum photos with each roll. But that meant we didn’t take 30 photos of the same thing, and we were forced to print those images! Now, I have 1000s of photos all on cards or phones or in the ‘cloud’. It’s overwhelming to even start to print them.
And, then there are times when one of the girls says “mom, can you print this photo?” … and I’m like “uh, one day“. Because it’s such a pita. When I saw this camera featured on the Marilyn show recently, I jumped online to find a deal. Here’s that deal on amazon.com and also on amazon.ca.
For The Cook
I’m always asked “what are your most-used kitchen appliances?” Outside of the obvious fridge and stove, I absolutely cannot imagine food prep without these top 3:
Breville Sous Chef Food Processor
If I add a fourth kitchen appliance to my vegan gift guide, it would be the Instant Pot. I love it, though I don’t use it daily as I do those other three countertop appliances. But, for cooking dried beans, pressure cooking (and slow cooking), the Instant Pot is a great kitchen gift!
Cookbooks
Of course my gift list wouldn’t be complete without including my own books! For digitial lovers, pick up my Oil-Free Dressings ebook is available or my books on kindle.
Most of you are familiar with my Plant-Powered Families cookbook. But did you know that’s my 5th book? I have 4 other titlesI’ve also collaborated with Dr. Barnard on two more (one releasing in the new year)!
This wraps up (har) my vegan gift guide. What items would you add to a vegan gift guide?
This post is not sponsored. These are items I use and love myself, or have recently purchased. This post includes affiliate links. When you purchase something through one of these links, a small percentage goes back to help support my work on this site. Thanks for your support.

Hi Dreena,
Thanks for compiling this gorgeous gift guide. I’d definitely go for the truffles. 😉
Along with your brilliant cookbooks I can recommend Vegan Cuisine by Jean-Christian Jury. It’s the most comprehensive cookbook I ever had (500 recipes, 800 pages), and just stunning. It is a work of art. To me this cookbook is a fancy gift for any foodie.
