Tess Masters just released her new ! If you love The Blender Girl cookbook, you will really love this app. It’s so fresh and functional, with 100 recipes that are designed to help your daily energy needs and moods. Every recipe is beautifully photographed, and there is a comprehensive ingredient glossary, as well as also shopping lists, tips and tricks!
All the recipes are vegan, raw, nut-free, corn-free, and/or sugar-free. Tess steps beyond recipes, helping home cooks understand smoothie science. She shares “how-to” information about layering flavors and incorporating “super foods,” so you can begin to create your favorite custom blends!
Probably the coolest feature of this app is its unique search tool. As mentioned, these recipes are designed to suit your needs. Feeling tired? There’s a smoothie to help! Feeling overstimulated and want to chill out? There’s a smoothie to help! Want to detox? Yep, a smoothie to help with that too! Plus, the recipes offer nutritional information and also have special icons to represent dietary needs.
Tess has agreed to share one of her dynamite smoothie recipes with you – today you can drink in the goodness of this Mystical Mango Smoothie!
Mystical Mango Smoothie
With a creamy texture and exquisite flavor, this immunity blend is fabulous for collagen formation and glowing skin, hair, and nails. Mango’s enzymes and vitamins A, C, and E cleanse the liver and aid digestion, and its potassium and fiber help regulate blood pressure and cholesterol. This one will make your heart happy. Serves 2
1 1/2 cups (360ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
1/2 cup (120ml) water, plus more as needed
1/2 medium avocado, pitted and peeled
1/2 teaspoon finely grated lime zest
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
2 cups (320g) frozen mango
1/2 cup (62g) ice cubes
Throw all of the ingredients into your blender and blast on high for 30 to 60 seconds, until smooth and creamy. Add more water as needed to blend.
Boosters: 1/2 teaspoon wheatgrass powder; 1 teaspoon chia seeds; 1 teaspoon flaxseed oil
